Why Indian Flag hoisted on Red Fort on 26th January and 15th August

Long ago Red Fort was the residence of the Mughal emperor of India for a period of 200 years.
Basically it is located in the center of Delhi with a collection of number of museums built near that place,
In addition to accommodating the emperors and their households, it was the main hub and political place of Mughal government and the setting for events critically impacting the region at that time.

Some people says due to this historical importance of this fort, it was decided to host the tricolor here like they do every year on 15th August.
